Why is Seo not being investigated for their conduct?
The NBA was criticized by the NBA Players Association last week for their handling of the Seo case.
ESPN Clic Info reported on Tuesday that Seo, the NBA’s second-largest sponsor, was being investigated by the league for their actions during the investigation.
ESPNCricInfo also reported that the NBA was investigating the company for their role in the arrest of former NBA star Derrick Rose.
In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Seo president and CEO, Dan Gilbert, said he was unaware of the NBA investigation until he learned it through an anonymous source.
Gilbert said he “absolutely” didn’t know about the investigation until ESPNCricketCup published an article on Monday, and he called the league’s response to the investigation “unprofessional.”
“I don’t think I was aware that anything was being done about it until I saw it published,” Gilbert said.
“I think the league should be doing the same thing with Seo.”
Gilbert added that he believes Seo should have taken steps to address the issues raised by the investigation prior to its publication.
He also said that the investigation should have been held by the independent counsel office and that the league “should have acted as if nothing was going on.”
“They need to look at it in a different light, and it needs to be brought to a close and closed,” Gilbert told ESPN.
“We have a lot of good people working there, and we’ve done a lot to make it better.”
The NBA responded to the report by saying in a statement that they are “reviewing the situation.”
The league’s statement also said the league has “implemented additional processes to address concerns regarding our corporate social responsibility and workplace culture.”
